Pioneering Private Medical Education in Georgia

Founded by Academician David Tvildiani and Dr. Dimitri Tvildiani, DTMU stands as the first non-governmental medical school in the country, introducing global syllabus standards.

David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) was established in 1989 with a vision to create a new paradigm in medical training. From its inception, the founders sought to integrate advanced European and American educational methodologies with local clinical excellence.

In 2011, following the passing of its visionary founder, the university was officially renamed to honor Academician David Tvildiani, cementing his legacy of dedication, educational reform, and academic discipline.

Today, DTMU is widely recognized as a premier institution in Eastern Europe. The university is proud of its stellar USMLE matching success, with hundreds of alumni currently practicing as licensed physicians in prestigious clinical centers across the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
